The GT Advance series aims to bring something roughly akin to Gran Turismo to the GBA. It kind of succeeds sometimes and falls hilariously flat otherwise. GT Advance 3 is the closest the series gets.
Unlike its console big brother series, GT Advance doesn't really have a career mode as much as it has a linear progression of races that award you from time to time with linear upgrades to your cars. It would have probably been better off without the upgrade system entirely, to be frank.
But for the GBA the racing is pretty tight, feels good and responsive, and there's a decent amount of challenge in later races. There's a good variety of tracks and alternate modes like night and reverse races too. The cars are taken from real-world brands and feel decent enough for a handheld platform.
But really it's kind of just a kart racer with linear track progression wearing the skin of a career mode simcade racer.
